I stayed at the Colonial for 1 night. I arrived feeling quite anxious due to issues with a hire car and being alone. Jackie at the front desk was absolutely amazing. She went out of her way to help me find a good car park on-site, changed my room so it was just near the car, and made many recommendations on tourist sites to visit. I had dinner delivered from the onsite restaurant and the food was amazing. They had an excellent menu and the food arrived quickly.

Wonderful place- great location so close to CBD that you can walk everywhere. Great room- quiet, clean, large and comfortable. Great food and drinks to be had at The Three Steps restaurant and bar. This was a real surprise treat! Highly recommend for English pub amblence with good prices for food and drink. A great comfortable place on the doorstep for dinner and drinks- why go elsewhere? Will definitely come back here again.

Breakfast is available in the dining room but I didn't try it so can't comment on that. Wanted to eat at the restaurant but it was very busy & by the time I could get a table it was late, so I decided to get room service instead. Same menu offered as in the restaurant and it was delivered quite quickly.

Hotel reception not very friendly (one person on duty Sunday morning in particular) The afternoon receptionist very helpful to an elderly person. The restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful indeed, particularly the young 16 year old who kindly escorted me from the restaurant, down a flight of stairs to my room was particularly kind.

The reception (Ben) was really friendly. The room was awesome, both clean and spacious. The bed had heating on which helped a lot. The location is close by to restaurants and bars. When I checked out, they let me keep my luggage in a room while I could roam around the city since I had a bit of time for my flight.
